How to be a Girl Scout Troop Volunteer
Volunteering is a great way to provide girls in your community with the Girl Scout experience - a sisterhood that last forever!
To support your child’s troop follow these steps:
-
Register your family and your daughter through EBiz under www.gshnj.org. Girls are $40 and family members are $25 each.
-
Complete the volunteer application/background online form through the www.gshnj.org page.
-
Forward the Cranford Service Unit Registrar (Registrar@CranfordGirlScouts.com) the GSHNJ email confirmations for your family so that they may be assigned to the Cranford Service Unit (48).
Are you interested in being a troop co-leader? Complete the following steps:
-
GS 101 - You may access GS101 through GSUSA’s website. Here’s the link: http://gsuniversity.girlscouts.org/course/girl-scouting-101/. Our council is "Heart of New Jersey." This is a 45 minute video presentation.
-
BLT (Basic Leadership Training) – This is online or in person. Register under EBiz at www.gshnj.org.
-
Level Training (Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors) – This training is online or in person. Register under EBiz at www.gshnj.org.
Council Required Level Trainings may be found
at
www.gshnj.org/?p=training-calendar.
All new Leaders should complete GS 101, BLT1, BLT2 and Level Training. Each time a Leader or Advisor rises with their
level they should attend a new Level Training. For example, if you are a Brownie Leader rising to Juniors, you should
now attend a Junior Level Training.
